Youth Leadership Program
Cultural Events, Programs, and Activities
Since our founding in 2016, Antonito Together has conducted in-depth planning to identify the root causes of health inequities, build relationships between residents and partners, and collectively identify solutions that will increase health equity for our residents.
These events are made possible by participation and volunteer help from adults and members of our youth program. These adults are integral to youth program members’ success, going beyond events to speak to the group and provide professional presentations, offer job shadowing, and facilitate trainings.
Each time a youth or adult sees a familiar face, we are increasing community cohesion and making our members feel more connected, which we know can increase the outcomes for our youth and economic stability in the San Luis Valley as a whole.
In collaboration with the Town of Antonito and other local organizations, we put on cultural events, programs, and activities. These all serve both adult members of our community, older adults, and youth. They are designed to bring community members together and educate about the various cultural identities present in the San Luis Valley. Some of our programming includes:

Community Cohesion
Established in 2019, our Youth Leadership Program serves 6th through 8th graders and seeks to help Antonito youth feel more confident in their futures, more pride in their community, and increase their knowledge and understanding of civics and community engagement.
We aim Antonito youth hard skills about what it takes to be successful in a career, what it means to work in a professional environment, and the key components of running a government or school board so they feel more empowered to be involved in decision making in their communities.
